Why Give to CCMT?

CCMT is rooted in the belief that education is the way to a more satisfying and enriching life.

Helping us in our mission are several thousand volunteers and donors, both Catholic and non-Catholic alike, who believe that every child should have the chance to attend a faith-based school, regardless of his/her socioeconomic status.

Our two campuses are a beacon of hope for families in the central city. Parents want their children to have the opportunities that they’ve never had. CCMT teachers work with the children to achieve success and prepare them for the rigors of high school, college, life and beyond.

How CCMT is Funded

The annual operating budget for Central City Ministry is $2.5 million dollars. Tuition payments from students and state funding only cover a portion of our annual budget. Diocesan and parish support account for 10%. The remaining amount must be raised every year to provide a quality education to our students.

This funding comes mainly from individual donors, but also corporate gifts and grants.

Donations can be mailed to:

Thank you for your generosity!

Programs of Giving

By participating in the “Adopt-A-Class” program, you can see firsthand the difference your donation makes to not just one child, but an entire class. The sponsorship fee is $2,500 and there are many opportunities to meet with your class and become involved.

Annual Fund

Generous individuals who make contributions every year keep the schools open and operating. We are grateful for every gift.

Planned Giving

There are many ways to give to Central City Ministry of Toledo and ensure that your gift lives on in perpetuity. You can name CCMT as the beneficiary of an asset, such as a life insurance policy. Gifts of stock and property are handled on a case-by-case basis. The easiest way to give is to include Central City Ministry of Toledo in your will.

Unrestricted Bequest

This gift lets CCMT determine the wisest and most prudent use of funds at the time of receipt. Simply state in your will: “I give, devise, and bequeath to Central City Ministry of Toledo the sum of $__________ or _____ % of my estate.”

Endowed Bequest

This bequest allows you to restrict the principal of your gift, requiring CCMT to hold the funds permanently and use only a small percentage of the income they generate. For example, a bequest of $25,000 would generate an estimated interest of $1,500 every year to be used by CCMT.

Central City Ministry of Toledo (CCMT) has been recognized by the Toledo Blade and Workplace Dynamics for 3-consecutive years as a Top Workplace Organization and was a Better Business Bureau Torch Award Finalist in 2016 for Marketplace Ethics.

As a strategic educational partner of The University of Notre Dame, Lourdes University, and Mercy College of Ohio, CCMT is proud of its successes:

  • 99% of CCMT graduates, who remain in the Catholic School System, graduate from high school.

  • 95% of all Toledo Diocesan students, who remain in the Catholic School System, go on to higher education.

  • Sending children to CCMT Schools saves taxpayer dollars.

  • Sending children to inner-city Catholic Schools, such as CCMT, reduces crimes rates, slows inner-city decay, while increasing community involvement and overall quality of life.

Tutors and mentors are needed to work one-on-one with the children on a consistent basis throughout the year. Many times the children just need someone to talk with and someone they can depend on. Do you have strength in a certain subject area?  We welcome tutors for any subject at any grade level.

Our Values:

As we are instructed in Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it."  CCMT educates children by adhering to the following core values:

  • We believe in the faith traditions of the Catholic Church. It is through this faith standard that we provide students with the ability to make strong ethical choices

  • We believe in instilling morality by teaching students the necessary life skills of respect (for self and others), character, and proper behavior.

  • We believe in instruction of the whole person and the responsibility we hold for ourselves and all of God's blessed diversity.
