Ed Choice Scholarship Program

The Educational Choice Scholarship (EdChoice) Program provides students from under-performing public schools the opportunity to attend participating private schools. The program also provides low income students who are entering kindergarten through fourth grade the same opportunity. The program provides up to 60,000 EdChoice scholarships to eligible students.

Incoming kindergarten students, students currently enrolled in K - 12 public school, students new to Ohio, community school students, and private school students are eligible for Ed Choice.

  • Pays 100% of tuition

  • Open enrollment session one: February 1 - April 30, 2018

  • Open enrollment session two: July 1 - July 31, 2018

  • Qualification verified by producing a utility bill in custodial parent’s name

  • Student birth certificate  and social security card required (copy)

  • If transferring from another school, most recent report card must be presented with enrollment paperwork (school policy)

  • All kindergarten students must complete screening process prior to first day of school (school policy)

Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund

Scholarships based on financial need. Students who receive tuition assistance must attend an area private K-8 school. 

Each scholarship is based on individual family size and income, with a maximum scholarship of $1,500 per child for elementary students (K-8). Income information is re-evaluated each year with the scholarship amount adjusted accordingly.

The guidelines for eligibility generally follow the federal free or reduced school lunch program. Parents are required to pay a minimum of $500 toward the student’s tuition each year.
